Humble ISD employs 200 to 300 guest teachers each day. “Guest teacher” is a term that is used synonymously with sub or substitute teacher.
A guest teacher is responsible for providing instruction, managing the classroom environment and promoting student learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
Due to higher-than-normal teacher absences for a variety of reasons, and an ongoing commitment to continue providing quality education in the classroom for the students, the Humble ISD board of trustees discussed guest teacher pay during the June and September 2021 board meetings.
