Humble ISD To Unveil Historical Marker Honoring 100th Anniversary

Humble ISD continues to celebrate a century of education and service with the unveiling Thursday morning of its historical marker.

HUMBLE, TX — The Humble Independent School District will unveil its historical marker from the State of Texas Historical Commission during a special ceremony on Thursday. The event takes place at the Charles Bender Performing Arts Center, located at 611 Higgins Street at 9:30 a.m.

The marker recognizes the 100th anniversary of Humble ISD’s existence and will take place outside what was known for many years as Charles Bender High School.

The community-wide event will feature student vocal and orchestral performances, as well as a guided tour of the historic Bender Performing Arts Center.

Officials and students from Humble ISD, representatives from the Harris County Historical Commission, the City of Humble and leaders from Harris County are expected to attend.
