Inmate Escaped in Humble-area Captured

An inmate who escaped custody while in the Humble area is back in jail.

HUMBLE, TX — An inmate who escaped on Wednesday, July 20, is back in jail. Christopher Bronson, 42, was able to slip off a Harris County Sheriff's Office Inmate Work Program while at an Humble-area civic center.

Although Bronson escaped near Humble, he was arrested about 18 miles south, in the 700 block of Wainwright, near the intersection of the Hardy Toll Road and Loop 610.

The arrest was the result of the members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force working closely with the Harris County Sheriff's Office and the Houston Police Department.

Bronson was originally charged on May 24 with possession of a controlled substance and was in jail awaiting trial. On top of the possession charge, Bronson is now facing evasion and weapon possession charges.
