KINGWOOD, TX — The Kingwood Medical Center is expanding north along U.S. 59/I-69 to Cleveland, TX. The hospital plans to build a free-standing emergency room within the limits of the small, East Texas city. Hospital administrators have been working on the expansion for about two years and are currently shopping for a two acre or larger location that could house a 10,000 square-foot facility. When completed, the new facility will house 12 emergency areas, two observation rooms and a diagnostics lab that includes CAT scan, ultrasound and X-ray machines.
