The parades are finished, Mardi Gras is done, the last of the glitter and beads have been swept away and most Christians have entered the self-reflective church season of Lent. Lent is very different from lint. Lint is that fuzzy flammable stuff that clogs up your clothes dryer trap or sticks to your favorite sweater or shirt until you pick it off and throw it away. Lent is the 40-day season where you pick fuzzy stuff off your soul, called sin, and throw it away … that stuff is also flammable if you don’t get rid of it.
