NEW CANEY, TX — Sarah Macha, a teacher at New Caney ISD's Infinity Early College High School, is one of three finalists for the 2017 Texas Secondary Teacher of the Year award. Macha is also one of six finalists in the running for Texas' representative for the National Teacher of the Year program. Macha is the first New Caney ISD teacher to have made it to the finals in the Texas Teacher of the Year competition in at least 10 years.
