Opera Leggera, Holocaust Remembrance Assn. create hope

The world premiere of Janusz and Stefa, a musical drama of human dignity and love and respect for children was held Jan. 29 in Kingwood.
A world-renowned pediatrician, pedagogue and Jewish-Polish leader, Dr. Korczak’s Warsaw Ghetto Diary revealed children’s existence under Nazi captivity from 1940 through 1942, until they were sent by railroad cattle cars to the Treblinka gas chambers. The story describes the strength and selflessness of the Orphan’s Home children and their caregivers through this journey.
