Texas Resort Hosts National Nude Recreation Week
Emerald Lake Resort in Porter is hosting National Nude Recreation Week that caps off with a world record attempt at Skinny dipping.
PORTER, TX — If you're ready to show off that summer bod you've worked hard on and ditch the tan lines, perhaps a trip to the Emerald Lake Resort for National Nude Recreation Week is on your to-do list of summer activities. The event takes place July 7 through July 14 at Montgomery County's only nudist resort.
The resort, which has been around since the 1980s, is located on off Loop 494 in Porter near U.S. 59 and has long been the place where birthday suits are not only permitted, but encouraged.
Jonathan Gockel, the on-site manager who also lives at the resort, they've been planning National Nude Recreation Week events for a month, and hosted Olympics- style events that drew guests from various states.

Some guests are known to travel from as far away as New York, Canada and other areas where the climate is not as warm and forgiving as Texas, Gockel told the Houston Chronicle.
The resort, which is affiliated with the American Association for Nude Recreation, headquartered in Florida, and the Naturist Society, located in Wisconsin, will cap off National Nude Recreation Week with the world Skinny dipping record attempt at that takes place on Saturday at 2 p.m.
