Police are looking for the two men who stormed into a garage, shot two men and killed a 2-year-old boy.
HOUSTON, TX — A 2-year-old boy was killed and two of his family members wounded during a home invasion late Tuesday night, according to police. The incident happened at about 11:40 p.m. in the 2800 block of Trailing Vine at the Trailing Vine Apartment complex.
Lt. Robert Minchew, a homicide investigator with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, said the man, his son, and a family friend were in his garage at the apartment complex when two men stormed in with guns and immediately began shooting.
The boy's mother was upstairs with her 1-month old child when she heard the gunfire and believed someone had set off fireworks.

The little boy died at the scene from his wounds. The father, who police said was shot 9 to 10 times, was taken by Life Flight to the Texas Medical Center in unknown condition, and the family friend was shot once in the leg and is in stable condition at an area hospital.
Investigators believe the robbers intentionally targeted the father, which is why he was shot multiple times.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the homicide investigators at 713-221-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
