United Airlines Laying Off 100 In Houston, Airline Says
United Airlines announced their plans on Friday to lay off 100 of its accountants in Houston by the end of July.

HOUSTON — United Airlines announced Friday they plan to cut 100 jobs in Houston, and shift those jobs to a contractor later this summer. United officials said the cuts, which will happen in July, will impact positions in the company's revenue accounting team, and the duties would be handled by a contractor United already uses.
"This was a difficult decision and we understand the impact this announcement has on our employees," a statement from the airline read in part.
The lay offs were reported in a letter to the Texas Workforce Commission in Houston, according to a report in the Quad City Times.
