• Newly Formed Shotwell Foundation Funds Trades Scholarships (fortworthbusiness.com) — A longtime member of Hurst’s Planning & Zoning Commission, Howard Shotwell has launched the Shotwell Foundation to fund scholarships for students pursuing skilled trades. Residents of Northeast Tarrant County, including Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD graduates, can apply for $1,000 awards toward vocational classes or certificate programs. The effort aims to ease the local skilled labor shortage while offering affordable career paths.
