Here are the top five stories today in Irving:
- At least one tornado struck DFW on Monday night, following a National Weather Service storm warning. The rain, hail and winds that ensued reportedly left some communities with damaged roofs, damaged buildings, overturned vehicles and even personal injuries. Dallas County experienced the most rainfall during the storm — three inches. (The Dallas Morning News; subscription required)
- The Irving Animal Shelter reports that two dogs in its care have tested positive for a highly contagious canine distemper virus. Because of this, the facility will not be accepting new animals or adopting out any pets. (Irving Weekly)
- Do you own a restaurant in DFW? Kroger is launching a new restaurant supply service in the greater Dallas area to help combat supply chain issues. The new service features seven-day delivery, wholesale pricing as well as the ability to purchase individual quantities. Get the details at CultureMap Dallas.
- Check out DFW Airport's interactive game wall next time you’re in Terminal D. The new low-touch installation is set to make your next flight a bit more memorable. (Twitter)
- The City of Irving shares a spring reminder: Sunny days mean lots of outdoor events and fun times in Irving, Las Colinas and the surrounding communities, which sometimes mean more litter. The municipality reminds folks that they've provided plenty of trash receptacles and that, frankly, litterers aren't welcome here. (I think they're looking at you, dazed marathon runner from Rockwall who dropped your cup here last Saturday).
