To commemorate Black History Month, One World, Many Tales: The 2022 African American Read-In features a diverse group of readers sharing selections from African American children's literature. Award-winning author and professional storyteller Toni Simmons encourages audience participation while sharing folktales, songs, rhythms and chants. She has performed for audiences worldwide at festivals, conventions, schools, museums, theaters and libraries and on television.

The African American Read-In will be held Sunday, Feb. 20 at 2 p.m. at the Jack D. Huffman Community Building Auditorium, 801 W. Irving Blvd.

Visit the City of Irving website for more activities, both on-site and online. The Irving Archives and Museum, also located in the Huffman Community Building, presents I AM A MAN: Photographs of the Civil Rights Movement, 1960-1970 through March 16.
