Here are the top five stories today in Irving:
- Friday was Earth Day, ya'll. In honor of the occasion, the City of Grand Prairie is giving away free trees to residents. The event will also feature face painting, animal encounters and more at Epic Central on today. First come, first served. (CW33 Dallas)
- Six Flags in Arlington is set to open this season with some new improvements. The Texas Sky Screamer now offers a flight suit (fly like a superhero!) and you can get a preview at the Longview News-Journal. Now you can soar belly-down 400 feet in the air for an extreme experience. Aquaman PowerWave is another new addition, set to open a little later in the season.
- A substitute teacher at South Grand Prairie High School is facing consequences after video surfaced that shows him apparently fondling himself during a class. Although the video was taken in March, Grand Prairie school officials say they were only recently made aware of it. Because the incident involved juveniles, the District is not releasing names of those involved. (Audacy.com)
