• Fire destroys historic East Texas church building (ktbs.com) — A historic New Macedonia Baptist Church building near downtown Jefferson was destroyed in a suspicious fire, and the state fire marshal is now investigating alongside Jefferson police. Pastor Donald Tyler and former members are grieving the loss of the late-1800s structure, which had been remodeled but unused since 2019. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Jefferson Police.
