More build-to-rent homes coming to Katy area (coveringkaty.com) — Hundreds of new build-to-rent duplex homes are coming to the Katy area, with construction on the 210-unit Landing at Katy Pointe starting soon near Clay Road and Katy Pointe Boulevard in Katy ISD. Another 156-home RSK community is planned near Katy Park, adding to a growing list of rental neighborhoods that could reshape local housing options for families, professionals, and downsizing residents. 
2. Killer dog pack in Katy leaves one man dead, mother injured while saving toddler (khou.com) — A 62-year-old man was killed and a mother and her toddler were injured after a pack of dogs attacked in a Katy neighborhood and along the Mason Creek trail. Authorities say the dogs escaped from their owner’s yard and have been captured while homicide detectives investigate and consider possible charges, raising urgent safety concerns for residents who walk or play outside nearby.
3. Shipley Capital LLC buys 24803 Laguna Edge Drive, Katy (houstondaily.com) — A single-family home at 24803 Laguna Edge Drive in Katy recently sold for $774,400, one of 61 properties changing hands in Katy’s Fort Bend County area over the past month. The 2020 property tax bill was $15,769, about 2% of its assessed value, reflecting both local valuations and a still-rising national housing market.
4. For De'Aaron Fox, the ‘grass is greener' with the San Antonio Spurs (andscape.com) — NBA guard De’Aaron Fox is thriving with the San Antonio Spurs and preparing for the NBA Cup final, but his roots remain close to Katy, where he grew up and still keeps an offseason home.
