Local officials, nonprofits and state agencies are coordinating debris cleanup, replanting efforts, and wildlife monitoring, and they’re asking riverfront landowners to help rebuild a healthier riparian zone.

Survivor Addison Martin recalls clinging to trees in the dark, praying for help, and finally being pulled to safety by first responders after hours in the raging water.

• Lyda Morton: Aug. 17, 1923-Dec. 10, 2025 – The Kerr County Lead (kerrcountylead.com) — Kerrville is remembering Lyda Morton, who moved here in 2005 after a long, colorful life that included wartime work, ranching, and years of community involvement. She died at 102, and friends and family can honor her at a memorial service on Monday, December 22, at Grimes Funeral Chapels.
