Laredo Immigrant Alliance shares details on ICE jail agreement, community impact (star-telegram.com) — Webb County has formally adopted a 287(g) Jail Enforcement Model with ICE, affecting how noncitizens in local custody may be questioned and transferred from Laredo-area jails. Sheriff Martin Cuellar says the program will stay inside the jail to meet federal requirements while trying to preserve community trust, and the Laredo Immigrant Alliance is sharing resources to help residents understand the changes.
   

2. Laredo launches community survey on Trump border wall amid renewed planning (star-telegram.com) — Laredo officials are asking residents to weigh in on how the community should respond to any renewed federal plans for Trump-era border wall construction along the Rio Grande. A new online survey seeks input on design control, eminent domain, floodwall options, use of local funds, and preserving safe public access to the river before the city takes its next steps.
   

3. A Texas City Was Ranked Best for Drivers in the Nation (wearebombcity.com) — Laredo drivers just got some welcome recognition: a new WalletHub study ranks Laredo among the 10 best cities in the entire country for drivers, alongside Corpus Christi at number one. The ranking reflects factors like driving costs, traffic, and infrastructure, offering a rare bit of positive news about getting around in Texas.
   

4. LPD: Teen arrested after gunfire strikes Laredo home (lmtonline.com) — Laredo police say an 18-year-old has been charged after gunfire struck a home in central Laredo last month, damaging the front door, walls and windows but injuring no one. Investigators identified the suspect following reports of masked individuals leaving the area, and later served him with a warrant for deadly conduct, a third-degree felony.
