• Commissioner Buckingham Announces Partnership with U.S. Army Corp of Engineers for Stabilization and Nourishment Project at Sargent Beach (thepostnewspaper.net) — A major shoreline protection and beach restoration project is moving forward at Sargent Beach in Matagorda County, with a $86 million federal–state partnership now under contract. Crews will build rock structures, add about a million cubic yards of sand, and rebuild County Road 238 to restore public beach and boat ramp access, with completion expected by July 2027.
