Collin College News: Collin College Theatre Department Presents “She Kills Monsters”

"She Kills Monsters" follows Agnes Evans as she comes to grips with her family's death in a car crash.

Feb. 11, 2022 – The world of fantasy role-playing games comes alive in “She Kills Monsters,” a dark comedy performed at the Collin College Plano Campus John Anthony Theatre, Feb. 24-27 and March 2-6. Tickets are free for students, $5 for those 65 or older, and $10 per person for all others. Theatre-goers who dress in fantasy costumes will receive free gaming dice while supplies last.

“She Kills Monsters” follows Agnes Evans as she comes to grips with her family’s death in a car crash. After discovering her sister Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons campaign book, Agnes embarks on an adventure into a fantastical world that Tilley loved and Agnes never knew. Filled with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and plenty of monsters to slay, the fast-paced comedy also touches on themes of identity, community, and family.

Written by acclaimed playwright Qui Nguyen (“Vietgone,” “Living Dead in Denmark”) and directed by Collin College’s Robin Armstrong, “She Kills Monsters” is a story sure to appeal to the geek and warrior in everyone.

Performances begin at 7:30 p.m., Feb. 24-26 and March 2-5. Matinee shows begin at 2:30 p.m., Feb. 27 and March 5-6. Tickets are available at http://collin.universitytickets.com. The Plano Campus is located at 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano.
