• Tradition Homes Commits Up To $1 Million To ManeGait Expansion (localprofile.com) — ManeGait Therapeutic Horsemanship in northwest McKinney is set for a major Beacon Project expansion, backed by up to $1 million from Tradition Homes over three years starting in 2026. The project aims to double weekly capacity to 300 participants, expand mental health and veterans programs, and help meet growing demand for equine-assisted therapy across North Texas.
   

• Texas City's Grandma Stand Will Melt Your Heart (klaq.com) — Downtown McKinney now has a heartwarming new holiday feature: The Grandma Stand, where local “McKinney Grandmas” offer conversation, comfort, and advice to anyone who stops by. Started by a New York project founder, the booth has been such a hit that city leaders expect it to return in spring, possibly at the McKinney farmers market.
   

• College football: Kutztown goes for berth in NCAA Division II title game on Saturday at home (mcall.com) — McKinney will host the NCAA Division II football national championship game on Saturday, Dec. 20, bringing a major college matchup to town. Kutztown and Harding face off this weekend in Pennsylvania for a spot in that title game, with Ferris State and Newberry battling in the other semifinal.
