Started by founder Mike Matthews and inspired by his own grandmother, the purple-decorated booth has been so popular that city leaders expect it to return in spring, likely at the McKinney farmers market.
   

• Quilting for a cause – Quilters craft comfort for children and families in need (princetonherald.com) — McKinney residents Joe and Elaine Henry helped transform a local Project Linus chapter that began in McKinney into today’s Community Quilters powerhouse, now operating from a new workshop in Royse City. Volunteers there turn out hundreds of comforting blankets each month for Collin County and North Texas children in crisis, and locals are invited to pitch in or even book the on-site quilting retreat.
