“Water” You Waiting For? Register Now for the Dallas Watermelon Dash August 23!

Get ready to squeeze the most out of summer at the first-ever Watermelon Dash Dallas, happening Saturday, August 23, at Bachman Lake Park, 3500 W. Northwest Highway! This refreshing 5K and Kids/Family 1K is the melon-choly free end to Lonestar Running Company’s (LRC) three-event Summer Dash Series in Dallas, which included the Lemonade Dash in June and Popsicle Dash in July. It’s the “ripe” way to wrap up a season of fitness, fun and giving back. The charity beneficiary is Dallas-based, the Dare to Dream Foundation.

This sweet event kicks off at 7:30 a.m. with the 5K, followed by an 8:45 a.m. awards ceremony and a 9 a.m. Kids/Family 1K. Whether you're running or walking, participants of all ages and athletic abilities will enjoy camaraderie with other participants, along with a scenic lakeside course, plenty of cool swag and watermelon-themed fun that’ll keep spirits high.

Even sweeter? Watermelon Dash Dallas proudly benefits the Dare to Dream Children’s Foundation, a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting at-risk youth in shelters, foster care and detention centers through life-skills education, mentoring and cultural enrichment. The Foundation also uplifts single mothers who have experienced domestic violence and homelessness, offering hope and a fresh start.

“We’re thrilled to bring the final event in our Summer Dash Series to Dallas with a burst of flavor and purpose,” said LRC co-founder Randi Schooley. “Watermelon Dash is about more than just fitness – it’s about building a community of fitness-minded people to keep Dallas residents moving this summer.”

Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers, top three Masters (40+) male and female, and first-place age group winners (age group medals mailed post-event).
