• Former Mesquite Teacher Arrested In Child Grooming Case (dallasexpress.com) — Mesquite police have arrested a former local teacher and coach on a child-grooming charge tied to a church in the city, and are asking anyone with additional information to come forward. The suspect previously worked at a Mesquite charter school and coached a Mesquite volleyball club, and his state teaching certificate is now under review by education regulators. 
• Man accused of killing 2 in Dallas then dying from self-inflicted gunshot identified (dallasnews.com) — A man suspected in a double shooting in Dallas was later found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot in a Mesquite neighborhood on Craig Drive, alongside the vehicle tied to the case. Dallas and Mesquite police are still investigating the motive and are asking anyone with information to contact detectives.
