• Newton County Sheriff's Office releases New App (easttexasbanner.com) — Newton County residents can now get real-time updates from the Sheriff’s Office through a new “Sheriff Connect” smartphone app. After downloading it from your app store, you select Newton County Sheriff’s Office as your default to receive local alerts, news, and information funded by NCIC Inmate Communications. 
• Newton County Sheriff's Report for Mon, Dec 15th, 2025 (kjas.com) — Newton County deputies report a busy week, including helping South Newton County Fire with a travel trailer blaze in Old Champion and safely locating a briefly missing toddler. They also handled a domestic disturbance arrest, answered 61 service calls, and now house 24 inmates across Newton, Jasper, and Beauregard facilities.
• 69-Year-Old Driver Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries After Truck Crashes Into Home on FM 1013 (easttexasbanner.com) — A Newton man was critically injured Sunday when his pickup left FM 1013 near Kirbyville, crashed through a fence, and slammed into a manufactured home. State troopers say 69-year-old Willie Limbrick was rushed to St. Elizabeth Hospital with life-threatening injuries after the eastbound truck veered off the roadway for unknown reasons.
