• Newton County Sheriff's Report for Mon, Dec 15th, 2025 (kjas.com) — Newton County deputies report a busy week, including helping South Newton County Fire with a travel trailer blaze in Old Champion and safely locating a briefly missing toddler. They also handled a domestic disturbance arrest, answered 61 service calls, and now house 24 inmates across Newton, Jasper, and Beauregard facilities.
   

• 69-Year-Old Driver Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries After Truck Crashes Into Home on FM 1013 (easttexasbanner.com) — A Newton man was critically injured Sunday when his pickup left FM 1013 near Kirbyville, crashed through a fence, and slammed into a manufactured home. State troopers say 69-year-old Willie Limbrick was rushed to St. Elizabeth Hospital with life-threatening injuries after the eastbound truck veered off the roadway for unknown reasons.
