Here are the top three stories today in Odessa-Midland:

  1. The Midland Library at the Plaza's mural is getting a facelift. The 1998 mural painted by famous cowboy artist Tom Ryan is getting an update. Mural artist Calina Mishay, a friend of Ryan's daughter, was commissioned to make some updates and plans to have her work done by the end of the day. If you'd like to see it in person, you can visit the mural at 301 W Missouri Ave. (KMID - Local 2 News)
  2. A Midlander woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday. Traci Lynn Klein was hit by a Ford F350 that failed to yield the right of way. She succumbed to her injuries later that night at the hospital. According to police, the investigation is ongoing. (Odessa American)
  3. Looking for things to do in Midland this weekend? This weekend is shaping up to be a great time thanks to the events planned by Midland agencies and businesses. You can attend Friday Night Live, a series dedicated to highlighting local talent, at the destination stage or fill your belly on Sunday and attend Tall City Brewing Co.'s huge crawfish boil.
