Here are the top three stories today in Odessa-Midland:
- The Midland College Chaps defeated Ranger College in the Region V Final securing an automatic bid to the Junior College National Tournament. Sophomore guard Keonte Jones led the Chaps with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Midland led 32-21 at halftime and never trailed in the second half. (KMID - Local 2 News)
- On Friday, Mar. 10, a 22-year-old Odessa man was arrested after authorities claimed he sold a confidential informant 200 fentanyl pills for $500. According to Ector County Sheriff's Office report, Cesar Porras set up an appointment on Thursday to sell the pills to someone he didn't know was working with the sheriff's department. Porras showed up at the arranged meeting spot in the 7800 block of West University. (CBS7)
- Maybe in Midland announced that the official grand opening of Szechuan House is scheduled for Monday, Mar. 20. The food at Szechuan House will feature an Asian cuisine menu and will be available for online ordering. The restaurant is located at 4501 W. Wadley Ave. (Mix 97.9 FM)
