2 Pasadena ISD Schools Rated Tops By Children-At-Risk Group

PASADENA, TX — Frazier Elementary and Meador Elementary were recently recognized as top 10 gold ribbon schools by Children At Risk, a non-profit advocacy group, who ranks the top performing schools in the Greater Houston Area.

Children At Risk, which ranked Frazier fourth and Meador eighth, considers raw test score data, year-to-year score improvements and score comparisons between schools with similar low-income student populations.

Frazier principal Wendy Wiseburn credits her staff and teachers for helping the school achieve the award.

“They are all so dedicated to the learning and growth of every student,” said Wiseburn. “Through focused planning and instruction, solid interventions, and a supportive and loving environment, our students are getting what they need to prepare them for their next adventures in education.”

Meador principal Beverly Bolton said that her goal is to help set students up for success in life at an early age and that this award validates the hard work by teachers and staff at her campus.

“This award is significant to us because we have a high population of at-risk students in our neighborhoods, but we also know they can overcome any obstacle and be successful if we do our part and give them the best opportunities we can,” said Bolton.
