9-Month-Old Girl Dies After She's Left In A Hot Car

The parents had taken the baby and another child to the doctor, and forgot to take the baby out when they returned home: Deputies.

BAYTOWN, TX — A 9-month-old baby who was found in a hot car Monday afternoon has died.

The incident was reported at a trailer park in 3100 block of Jones Road in Baytown at about 3 p.m.

According to a KPRC report, the parents had taken one of their other children to an appointment at 11 a.m., and returned home, anf forgot the child.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the parents were each attending to their other children, and apparently thought the other had taken the baby out of the car seat.

When they realized she was not in the home, they went outside where they found the baby and called 911.

The baby was taken to San Jacinto Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The case is still under investigation, and officials have not said if charges will be filed against the parents.
