Car Crash Impales Pasadena Man Who Fell Asleep: Police
A Pasadena man is in the hospital after he fell asleep at the wheel, and was impaled when he crashed, police said.

PASADENA, TX β A man is recovering in an area hospital after he was impaled during a car crash overnight, police said. The man, who has not been identified, was traveling eastbound on State Highway 225 at about 2:30 a.m., when officials said he fell asleep behind the wheel.
Police said the man crashed into a concrete barrier and was impaled by a piece of metal from the walk that pierced the floorboard and went into his body.
Firefighters were called to carefully remove the man, who had to be cut from his car, and taken by EMS to an area hospital.

Officials didn't release any information on his condition, or say if the driver was intoxicated.
