Channelview Man Arrested After 6-Hour SWAT Standoff

A man who allegedly threatened to shoot his wife and kids was arrested after a six-hour standoff with SWAT early Saturday morning.

CHANNELVIEW, TX — A fight between a man and his estranged wife led to a six hour standoff with SWAT officers Saturday morning.

Police were called to a home near Euclid and Second Streets in Channelview at about 9:30 p.m. Friday for a domestic disturbance.

The man’s wife told police that she and her husband had been fighting, when he kicked her out of the house, and threatened to shoot her and their kids if she returned.

After a six hour standoff, SWAT negotiators were able to talk the man into surrendering and he was taken into custody, KPRC reported.

The children, who were in the home at the time, were not injured.
