Cy-Fair Cop Charged With Sexual Assault Of Deer Park Girl: Police
Police said Jorge Bastida met a 12-year-old Deer Park girl through an online app and paid an Uber driver to bring her to his apartment.

DEER PARK, TX — A man who was entrusted to protect school children from harm as a school district police officer, is accused of violating that trust. Police arrested Jorge Luis Bastida, 22, on Tuesday and charged him with sexually assaulting of a child.
Police arrested Bastida after they learned he'd allegedly lured a 12-year-old Deer Park girl from her home, paid for her transportation to his apartment, and took her to a hotel where police said he sexually assaulted the girl.
This all began on Tuesday morning when the family of Marshe Bates, a student at Fairmont Junior High School, reported her missing to police.

During their investigation, Deer Park Police learned she’d been involved in an online chat on the Meetme app with an older man named Jay.
Investigators determined that Jay was Bastida, and that he’d arranged for their meeting. Police found the girl inside the hotel room at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police said Bastida, who was in training to become a full time Cy-Fair ISD police officer, was confronted about the allegations by his superiors and immediately resigned from his position.
The Cy-Fair ISD issued the following statement:
"We are aware of the disturbing allegations that a former Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Police Department employee was involved in the aggravated sexual assault of a missing Deer Park juvenile. The employee, who resigned while being investigated, was in a training program and was always under the direct supervision of a field training officer in CFISD.
"These allegations are heartbreaking to the more than 16,000 other employees who represent CFISD with integrity."
Bastida is being held in the Harris County Jail.
