Ray, a 2-year-old Beagle mix, is credited with saving an 11-year-old girl from a kidnapping on Sunday morning.

PASADENA, TX -- A 2-year-old Beagle-terrier mix is being hailed a hero after he thwarted the attempted kidnapping of an 11-year-old girl on Sunday. The dog named Ray was on a walk with his companion about 10 a.m. at the Willow Oak Townhome Complex.
The girl, who was visiting from Midland, told police that a man ran up to her and grabbed her by the arm and tried to drag her into a gray SUV. She told police that she fought with the man, and that’s when Ray jumped into the fray and bit the man's leg.
The girl was able to break free and run home with Ray not far behind her.
