Goose Creek School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Goose Creek is August 28. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)

October

• 10/9: No School for Students (Staff Development/PLC)

November

• 11/3: No School for Students (Staff Development/PLC)
• 11/20 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Holidays)

December

• 12/4 - 12/8: State Testing Dates
• 12/20: District Early Release Day
• 12/21 - 12/29: No School (Winter Holidays)

January

• 1/1 - 1/3: No School (Winter Holidays)
• 1/4 - 1/5: No School for Students (Teacher Workday/Staff Development/PLC)
• 1/8: Students Return
• 1/15: No School (MLK Day)

February

• 2/19: No School for Students (Staff Development/PLC)

March
