La Porte Families Lose Homes After 2 Apartment Buildings Burn
A fire at the Delta Heights Apartment Complex on Tuesday burned two buildings and left several families without a place to live.

LA PORTE, TX — Arson investigators in La Porte are trying to determine the cause of a fire that erupted at an apartment complex on Tuesday morning.
La Porte emergency dispatchers received a 911 call at about 9:11 a.m.of a structure fire at the Delta Heights Apartments, in the 3100 block of S. Broadway.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found one of the buildings fully engulfed in flames. High winds fed the flames to a second apartment building before it could be contained.

La Porte Police, Fire, and EMS responded followed by mutual from the Deer Park, Seabrook, and Port of Houston Fire Departments. The fire was contained to just two buildings.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation with representatives from the City of La Porte Fire Marshall’s Office. Two buildings housing a total of 20 units were severely damaged.

The American Red Cross was contacted and are currently working with the apartment management and the City of La Porte to provide temporary shelter for the displaced residents.
There were no reported injuries of residents or first responders.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
