The RAD System, as it is known, is a realistic program that teaches self-defense tactics and techniques. The RAD program is a comprehensive course that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and avoidance while progressing toward the basics of actual hands-on defense training.
Officials with the la Porte Police said the program is not a martial arts program. The class is taught by LPPDβs certified RAD Instructors, and begins with a classroom-based orientation where workbooks and reference manuals lay the course foundation.
