Capital Murder Charges Filed In Shooting Death Of Channelview Man
Roderick Coffman, 20, was arrested Wednesday and charged with capital murder in the shooting death of Russell Eugene Hamm, 56.

CHANNELVIEW, TX — A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged in the shooting death of a 56-year-old man outside his apartment.
Roderick Coffman was arrested Wednesday and charged with capital murder in the shooting death of Russell Eugene Hamm.
Hamm was found shot to death on the balcony of his apartment complex in the 16400 block of Woodrow Street on May 15.

Investigtors said Coffman tried to rob Hamm, and ended up killing him.

Witnesses told deputies that they saw two men walking up the stairs to the apartment, and then heard a gunshot, and saw the two men and a woman leaving a short time later.
Coffman is being held in the Harris County Jail without bond.
