Police Arrest Man Who Allegedly Tried To Kidnap Midland Girl, 11

Raul Perez is accused of the attempted kidnapping of an 11-year-old girl over the Labor Day holiday.

PASADENA, TX -- A man who police say tried to kidnap an 11-year-old girl earlier this month has been arrested. Police arrested Raul Perez and charged him with kidnapping, officials said.

The victim, who was visiting family during the Labor Day weekend, told police she was walking her dog when Perez came up and grabbed her by the arm. She fought Perez as he tried to drag her into his gray SUV, and that's when Ray, her 2-year-old Beagle thwarted the kidnapping and allowed her to run for help.

The girl was able to break free and run home with Ray not far behind her.
