Sexual Assault Video Leads To Arrest Of La Porte Man
Buford Lloyd Crowell, 67, is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child and possession of child pornography.

LA PORTE, TX — A 67-year-old La Porte man was arrested after officials were notified that he’d allegedly sexually assaulted a child, police said.
Investigators with the La Port Police Department and the Harris County Pct. 8 Constables Office arrested Buford Lloyd Crowell on Dec. 7 at his home in the 300 block of South Kansas Street.
According to officials from the La Porte Police Department, investigators were alerted to the alleged assault several days earlier after a relative discovered a video on Crowell’s phone from 2017 that allegedly showed him sexually assaulting a young girl, and turned the video over to police.

Police searched Crowell’s home, but it's not known if investigators found any more evidence.
Local residents who know Crowell, or had even a casual contact with him, appeared shocked at the news, and shared their comments on the police department's Facebook Page.

Investigators in the case believe there could be other victims who came into contact with Crowell, and are asking them to contact police.
Meanwhile, Crowell is in the Harris County Jail, and is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child under the age of 14, which is a first degree felony, and possession of child pornography, which is a third-degree felony.
Crowell's bail amounts total $55,000 for both charges.
