Mark your calendars: Plano will celebrate its 150th birthday on June 3
Lots of fun activities planned for the event at Haggard Park

Plano, Texas - As the city of Plano gears up to commemorate its 150th anniversary on June 3rd, Dallas Metro News is reminding everyone to take part in the birthday celebration.
The event will take place at Haggard Park from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The park will be decorated to show off Plano's history. There will be lots of fun activities like card-making, face painting, and live shows.

Mark Thompson, Executive Director at Visit Plano, talked about how important this event is.
"Reaching the 150-year mark is a big deal. It lets us think about our past and look forward to the future. It's a time for everyone in the community to get together and celebrate," he said.

He also said he thinks a lot of people will come to the celebration. It's going to be like a big community picnic.
At Haggard Park, there will be a lot of things to see and do. There will be a special area for kids to play, live music, and plenty of food trucks. People can also learn more about Plano's history at different information booths run by the city.
The party will end with a big fireworks show and a group sing-along. But the fun doesn't stop there. After the event, everyone is invited to a party at McCall Plaza, hosted by the Filmore Pub.
