Plano West Senior High School resumes after AC malfunction
Air conditioning malfunctions cause a brief closure at Plano West Senior High

Plano, Texas - After an unexpected closure due to a malfunctioning air conditioning system, Plano West Senior High School plans to reopen and resume its activities on Tuesday.
The school had to pause its instructional activities on both Friday and Monday while technicians worked diligently to fix the pressing maintenance issue.
"We look forward to welcoming back our students and staff at our regular arrival times," the district announced on X, the platform previously known as Twitter.

While the Plano Independent School District (Plano ISD) notes that the current solution is temporary, they believe it will provide a suitable environment until a more permanent repair is implemented.
"We will closely monitor the system. Our facilities team, along with external contractors, will start a comprehensive repair after school ends on Friday, Sept. 1," the district commented on X. "We aim to finalize all repairs before classes start on Sept. 5, following the Labor Day holiday."

Although weather forecasts suggest moderate temperatures for most of the week, reducing concerns of excessive heat, the prediction indicates a return of high temperatures beginning this Friday and continuing over the Labor Day weekend. This underscores the district's urgency to ensure all repairs are completed by September 5, when classes are set to continue after the holiday.
