Plano - In a notable step forward for infrastructural upgrades, the Plano City Council has sanctioned a near $2.9 million contract with FNH Construction LLC, thereby kickstarting a series of critical road renovation initiatives, Dallas Metro News reported.

The council greenlit the contract at their meeting held on June 26th, setting the stage for a significant transformation in the city's transport infrastructure.

A council memorandum, which acts as a guide, identifies the roads that are in line for upgrades through the overlay process. Roads listed for this upgrade include Los Rios Boulevard, which stretches from 14th Street to Merriman Road; Parker Road, running from the city's eastern boundary to Spring Creek Parkway; and Plano Parkway, winding from Los Rios Boulevard to just shy of the city's eastern limit.

The ambitious project encompasses a thorough resurfacing of a significant 4.2-mile span across the selected roads, aiming to ensure a smoother and safer driving experience for motorists.

Interestingly, the approved contract will also fund the purchase of machinery that the city currently does not possess, finds impractical to store, or lacks the means to operate or maintain. Furthermore, an extra contingency fund amounting to $454,275 has been set aside to cover any potential future costs.
