Arrests Made In Robbery, Killing Of Hutto Man: Round Rock PD

2 Pflugerville men and another from Austin are among those charged in connection to the robbery, killing of Christopher Branham.

ROUND ROCK, TX — Five suspects have been charged in the robbery and subsequent killing of a man in Round Rock over the summer, police said Wednesday.

Christopher Branham, 26, of Hutto was reported missing on June 24 after having last been seen at the Red Roof Inn along the 1900 block of North Interstate 35 in Round Rock, according to a police advisory. Police said his body was found July 31 in a corn field in the 14000 block of FM 1100 near Manor, and it is believed he was first robbed at the hotel before being shot and killed at the location where his body was found.

On Tuesday, police said they charged five suspects for their role in the robbery: Anthony Davis of Pflugerville; Kyle Cleveland of Whitesboro; Jamil Watford or Pflugerville; Jesse Perkins of Austin; and a juvenile female. Davis, 26, and Cleveland, 30, were already booked into the Travis County Jail, having been arrested Aug. 5 on charges related to Brenham's killing, police noted.

The Texas Rangers, U.S. Marshals Service, and the Travis County Sheriff’s Office were among the other law enforcment agencies assisting in the case, Round Rock police said. The case has since been been filed with the Travis County District Attorney’s Office, officials added.
