Ascension Seton Williamson collaborates with Texas State University Round Rock Campus to open sleep center

Ascension Seton Williamson announced a collaboration with Texas State University Round Rock Campus to offer comprehensive sleep diagnostics and therapeutics to patients 12 years and older in the Williamson County area with problems with sleeping, staying awake or troublesome behavior during sleep. The new Ascension Seton Williamson Sleep Center at Texas State University in Round Rock features state-of-the-art equipment and furnishings on the Round Rock campus in Willow Hall.
With a mission to serve educational, research, and diagnostic needs, the four-bedroom, four full bath Sleep Center features technology such as Sleepware G3 diagnostic software from Philips Respironics and the Somnoware database system, giving clinicians access for tech scoring and interpretation.
The Sleep Center performs sleep studies according to the highest medical standards. Sleep Center services will be delivered by Ascension Seton Williamson clinicians. Dr. Said Soubra, pulmonary critical care and sleep medicine specialist, serves as the medical director of the Ascension Seton Williamson Sleep Center at Texas State University. Dr. Soubra oversees the quality of patient care for all diagnostic procedures.

Additionally, the Sleep Center offers opportunities for Respiratory Care undergraduate and graduate students to complete clinical rotations.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Texas State University to offer sleep medicine to our neighbors in Williamson County and beyond,” said Wes Tidwell, chief operating officer at Ascension Seton Williamson. “We share a vision to meet the growing healthcare needs of this dynamic community, while providing compassionate personalized care to patients struggling with sleep disorders.”

“The Respiratory Care Department at Texas State University has enjoyed a long-lasting relationship with Seton Family of Hospitals, now Ascension Seton, since the inception of the Respiratory Care Department in 1972,” said Denise Trauth, president at Texas State University. “Nearly 50 years ago, Ascension Seton approached Texas State University regarding the need for respiratory therapists in the Austin area, and was instrumental in the start of the Respiratory Care Program in the College of Health Professions. Ascension Seton has continued to support the Respiratory Care Program and all College of Health Professions students through clinical rotations, internships, and clinical instruction within their growing facilities.”
