Here are the top stories in Round Rock today:

1. Round Rock Police are investigating a deadly shooting at Red Hills Villa apartments that occurred just before 9 p.m. Thursday. The incident is said to have been an isolated situation between two men. The man who died is yet to be identified, but Round Rock Police are expecting to be able to deliver this information in the coming days. Visit KXAN for updates.
2. Along with Austin, Round Rock has one of the lowest unemployment rates in Texas, at just 2.7 percent. The pandemic really threw a wrench into the economy and now, we've had more than 650,000 jobs added in just the past year. “Texas remains the best place to do business month after month thanks to the success and resilience of our Texas employers,” said TWC Commissioner Representing Employers Aaron Demerson. 3. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Round Rock's $220 million expansion has begun. At the projected completion date of some time in 2026, the hospital will be doubled in size. This project includes these additions: More parking, remodeling and technology, new lobby, a chapel, renovated healing garden, a five-story tower attached to the current building, and lots more that you can read about on Austin American-Statesman.
