  1. According to the city of Round Rock, the unauthorized discharge of raw sewage from a manhole along Brushy Creek was believed to be caused by a contractor error. The spill probably occurred on the evening of Jun. 16, when contractors were doing expansion work at the East Brushy Creek Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant, located at 3939 E. Palm Valley Boulevard. The city is still reviewing records to determine the duration and the volume of the spill, and estimates about 250 fish were killed due to the discharge. Signs advising residents to stay out of the creek were placed along a portion of Brushy Creek downstream from the plant. (Austin American Statesman)
  2. A petition to suspend or remove Round Rock ISD School Board Trustee Danielle Weston was filed in the Williamson County District Court. The 160-page document accuses Weston of "official misconduct" and "incompetency." According to the document, Weston allegedly illegally shared confidential school board communication, was wasteful and obstructive, skipped meetings, and more. On Jun. 17, Williamson County Attorney Dee Hobbs filed a motion to recuse himself and his office from this case due to a potential conflict of interest. Hobbs said the petition specifically references the County Attorney’s office. (KEYE TV CBS Austin)
