Austin resident Mark Yarbrough, 63, was reported missing after he failed to show up at a friend's Granger home last Monday night.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — The Williamson County Sheriff's Office on Monday confirmed that a dead body found in Granger, Texas, is that of an Austin man who had been missing for for a week.

During a news conference at the sheriff's office, Gary Haston, commander of the criminal investigations division, said the body found in a heavily wooded area early Monday is that of Austin resident Mark Yarbrough, 63. He had been reported missing last week after he failed to show up at a friend's Granger home, the sheriff's office previously said.

The missing man's crashed vehicle, car keys and wallet were found on the friend's property, Haston said, but his body was found some 400 meters away. Yarbrough worked as a massage therapist while living in central Austin, the officer said.
