Round Rock To Observe Veterans Day With Events, Deals

ROUND ROCK, TX— The City of Round Rock, its business community and other organizations around town will host various events to commemorate Veterans Day.

The American Legion Veterans Day Celebration is scheduled on Wednesday at 1000 N. Georgetown St. Breakfast will be provided by ALA Unit 447 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Lunch will be provided by HEB at noon during a flag retirement. A flag ceremony is scheduled at 3 p.m.

A number of eateries will honor veterans with special deals:

• Applebee's will offer vets a free meal on Veterans Day from its limited menu of signature entrées. Must show some form of military ID.
• Cracker Barrel will offer a free Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake dessert on Veterans Day.
• Golden Corral offers active or former military members a promotional card during the month of November redeemable for a free “Thank You” meal.
• Hopdoddy Burger Bar Round Rock is offering a free Classic Burger (with or without cheese) to all veterans and active military service members. Patrons must show their military ID or uniform to claim their free burger. This offer is redeemable for in-store dining or to-go orders placed by phone.
• IHOP will be offering veterans a free breakfast on Veterans Day. IHOP also offers continual discounts of up to 20 percent daily on all IHOP breakfast and menu items, depending on location, in appreciation for their efforts and their protection of this country.
• Little Caesars Pizza offers a free "Hot-N-Ready" lunch on Veterans Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Veterans and active military members can receive a free $5 HOT-N-READY® Lunch Combo.
• Olive Garden will allow military members to choose from six popular entrées from its menu free of charge on Veterans Day.
• Pluckers will offer free wings on Veterans Day. Guests with a valid military ID can enjoy a complimentary entrée, side and non-alcoholic beverage from the restaurant's extensive menu (up to $15) when dining at the restaurant.
• Red Lobster will offer a free appetizer or dessert on Veterans Day. Active duty military, reserves and military veterans can stop by Red Lobster and get a free appetizer or dessert.
• Romano’s Macaroni Grill will offer a free Mom’s Ricotta Meatballs & Spaghetti entrée.

• The Yogurt Experience offers military members a free FroYo up to $5.
