Here are the top stories in Round Rock today:
- Current Round Rock school board president Amber Feller says, “All I know is it was a 100% forgery ... It never came from me and the signature is an exact match to a signature of mine that is publicly available,” regarding a document that was posted online by the Round Rock One Family PAC. Read more on KXAN about this claim and what Feller is doing about it.
- A former student in the Round Rock Independent School District, Maryam Zafar, campaigned for a seat on the school board and quickly learned how hard it was to change the school system. Zafar faced several challenges that led her to drop out of the running, but she felt that her "proximity to her peers" would be a real advantage in making needed changes to the current school system. Read more about Zafar's passion for bettering the school system she was once part of, in Texas Monthly.
- This year's annual Veterans Day Celebration will take place at the Yonders Point Venue (3103 Aten Loop) in Old Settlers Park from 11 a.m. - noon and then 4 p.m. - 9 p.m. Words will be shared by "guest speaker US Army Futures Command Sergeant Major Brian Hester and live music from Anders Drerup Band at 7pm, and beer by Lonestar, the National Beer of Texas." (City of Round Rock)
