  1. A 1983 cold case is being reopened, after an "international extradition of murder warrants ended" in Mexico. Martin Gallegos was reported last seen in Mexico in 2017, and is the main suspect in the fatal shooting of 56-year-old Helen Ochoa, around "10:20 p.m. on Oct. 16, 1983." Gallegos shot and injured two other men, who recovered from their injuries. An active murder warrant is out for his arrest and he can legally be extradited if found in Mexico. Gallegos is considered armed and dangerous. Read more on KXAN about where to submit information or tips.
  2. Here are the transit route changes that took effect Jan. 9: Capital Metro routes 150 and 51 are discontinued but riders can still make it to the Howard station via route 152. Routes 50 and 51 are no longer running, with hopes of a mobility-on-demand type service replacing them. Riders who are disabled will be able to request "curb-to-curb" service.
